Steve and Debbie’s Screened Porch Addition Project
The homeowners’ goals were to enlarge the dining area and open up the living space to the outdoors. Anticipating the future dinette project the porch was built on a full foundation with bracing and insulation in place. In order to make that happen down the road as phase 2, the porch was built on a full foundation, with bracing and insulation in place for a future finish of half of the screened porch.
The grade level deck doesn’t require guard railings, so anyone sitting there will enjoy an optimal view of the wooded and landscaped back yard. The owner works from home, and on nice days, he uses the porch as his personal office. His comment after the project was completed was: “Our whole family lives out there all the time.”
